DANCE

to drag, stretch], the art of precise, expressive, and graceful human movement, traditionally, but not necessarily, performed in accord with musical accompaniment. Dancing developed as a natural expression of united feeling and action.


Classes

Creative I Creative II Creative III
Creative classes are one hour long divided by age 3yr, 4yr & 5yr old, with each level advancing a little faster . A combination of tap, ballet, tumbling and creative movement are used to improve coordination, gross motor skills, confidence and listening skills. Creative classes are an introduction to basic dance skills meant to install a love for dance.
 
Ballet
Classical form of dance for ages 6 & up taught in levels beginner, intermit ate and advanced. Ballet is the foundation of all forms of dance. Barre, center floor and progression are all used to develop proper body placement, carriage, grace and poise.
 
Acrobatics
Balance, coordination, flexibility and muscle strength are the focus while learning basic floor work like forward/backward rolls, cartwheels, backbends, frontovers/back walkovers and handsprings.
 
Tap
Tap classes are taught in levels of ability each level builds off the other. Tap combines dance with rhythmic foot patterns. Students learn timing and musical rhythms.
 
Jazz
A contemporary style of movement to upbeat music. It develops the ability to move, isolate and improve flexibility. Students will learn turns, jumps and leaps.
 
Hip-Hop
Very popular fun and energetic street style of dancing, always taught with age appropriateness
 
Lyrical
A modern dance which fuses Jazz & Ballet together, while trying to convey the emotion of a song’s lyrics. All lyrical students must be enrolled in at least one ballet class a week.
 
Musical theatre
A form of combining music, dance, and acting together.
 
Pilates
Pilates is an exercise that is focused on building strength without building muscle mass, and building mental with physical fitness. Pilates can be performed by everyone young, old, strong, weak. Benefits of pilates include increased flexibility in the body, leaner muscles and improved posture.
 
Clogging

A very fun, high energy dance style focusing on clogging footwork and choreography.
We offer Beginner classes and an Advanced competition level class.
